Our Team

The church is a registered charity currently with 8 deacons/trustees, including a Church Secretary and Treasurer.   Each deacon is responsible for various groups within the church to help support leaders and helpers.  We also employ an part time admnistrator.


Pastor - Mark Herd

Mark has recently joined our church family as our Pastor, along with his wife Jane.

Church Secretary - Wendy Reynolds

Wendy acts as a facilitator, organiser and encourager.   

She first attended the church in 2001 and soon joined the children's ministry as a leader.  She has served on the Church Leadership Team for 6 years as a Deacon.  She is married to Trevor, works for a local Citizens Advice and loves walking her Border Collie, Sasha.


Treasurer - Neil Meadows
Neil has been a member of our Church since 2004 and is currently our Treasurer.
He also is one of the leaders of our young people on a Sunday morning.

Neil has lived in Mansfield since 2000, is married and has long service working for Royal Mail. He enjoys most sports with a particular love of baseball and American Football.
Administrator- Colleen Coyle
Colleen works part time from 8.30am till 12.30pm Monday - Friday.  Her duties include office duties for all services, newsletters, poster artwork, newsletters, lettings,, weddings & funerals etc.
Colleen is married and has 3 children and a dog.  She likes to go away with her husband for the odd weekend in their caravan and also enjoys playing guitar and irish whistle and is in a small band.  Photography and crochet are also something she likes to dabble with too!!!


Derek Rumbol

Derek joined the church in 1998 after working with BMS WorldMission in Africa and also serving as team minister in Milton Keynes. He coordinates the Prayer Chain, organises the Sunday service rota and housegroup programme.  He and his wife Brenda enjoy water colour painting.

Eric Staley

Eric was brought up in a Baptist Church but has served in various Churches during his life so far . He was brought into membership in 2014 and looks forward to serving and sharing his experiences on the diaconate/leadership team.  Together with his wife Jan, there has been this great unity of serving Jesus together in Youth work and Church leadership.  They both lead our Welcome Break with others.

Tracy Butcher

Tracy joined the fellowship over 25 years ago along with her husband and family, and has served as a Deacon for the last 4 years.

She looks after the preparations for the major Christian festivals, and prayerfully considers and coordinates support for the pastoral needs of our church family. She is a retired nurse and midwife.

Astronomy is a great interest for the family with trips to view total eclipses of the sun, for example .

Chris Clark

Chris joined the church with Jenny, Steve and Hannah soon after they moved to Mansfield in 1979. Chris plays organ and keyboard and was elected as a Deacon over three years ago. He was re-elected for a further three years in May. He oversees our music and is responsible for our Manse and Gift Aid.


Claire Spencer

 After several years, Claire was welcomed back into church membership in June 2016 and became a deacon in May 2017.  In the past she has been a Sunday School leader/teacher, a lieutenant in the Girl's Brigade and was involved with the ladies weekly meeting. She loves studying God's word to further her ministry skills. She is a house group leader and looking forward to this new chapter in her  life as a deacon. She's married to Gavin and is a housewife, mum/step-mum and granny whilst caring for her dad. She has many hobbies and interests including craft work, dolls house making, walking in Derbyshire, visiting places of interest and enjoying a ride on their motorbike.

Margaret Selley

Margaret joined the church when we moved to Mansfield in1970. She has served s a deacon for many years and worked as a leader in Junior Church and the Toddler Group. In 2015 she researched our church history as we celebrated the 200th anniversary. She has been involved in helping run the Alpha courses and enjoys being a member of the music group. Margaret is also a keen supporter of the Welsh Rugby team but we still love her!

Nigel Martin
